Get To Know The Face Of Act Fast Derby

I qualified as a midwife in 2013 with a BSc (hons) Degree in midwifery. I trained as an Aesthetics practitioner in 2022 where I have worked alongside my full time job, gaining experience and knowledge in my spare time. I have now made the transition to provide First Aid at Work courses as my full time role, alongside my other business in aesthetics and laser hair removal. I have always had a passion for excellent practice, teaching and sharing skills, which led me to obtain a role as a clinical Educator for 7 years, within midwifery. For the last 2 years I have worked with a private company where I have written a course and facilitated training for international and return to practice midwives and nurses, to help them obtain, or regain, their NMC registered PIN. Within my 7 years as a clinical educator, I have qualified as a practice supervisor and assessor for student midwives. I have reviewed and updated clinical guidelines, led audits to ensure patient safety. I have led a project to review and audit course content for NVQ level 2 and 3 for health care support workers and maternity support workers, and review their pathway for NVQ level 4 and beyond. Within the NHS a large part of my role was to mentor newly qualified midwives to upskill from a band 5 to a band 6. During my time in the NHS I have gained a lot of experience in facilitating study sessions for clinical practitioners across the multidisciplinary team, ranging from consultants, registrars, SHO’s, theatre staff, midwives, nurses, paramedics and health care support staff. I have gained instructor/facilitator qualifications in the following courses:

ANTT, Hand Hygiene, Intravenous infusion therapy training, Perineal suturing upskill, Human Factors (with global air training), Simulation training (within healthcare),Neonatal life support, PROMPT- obstetric emergencies, Fetal and neonatal physiology, NMC level OSCE train the trainer, and lastly a First aid at work instructor.

Other courses I have attended to extend my knowledge:

Leo – leadership course, OASIS and perineal suturing, MOET (Maternal Obstetric Emergencies Training)

NLS, Baby Lifeline CTG masterclass, Baby lifeline Enhanced maternal Care , and of course my pathway to Aesthetics and VCTC Level 4 Core of Knowledge for laser & light Devices

I am passionate about delivering the best quality teaching with a fun, fast and friendly approach. You will definitely complete your course feeling much more confident to deliver first aid in your workplace.
